2nd Annual Educators Cultural Conference October 7th and 8th, 2010
Open to all teachers. Come and learn how to incorporate Mi'kmaq culture and history in your classrooms. The conference has an incredible line-up of prominent Mi'kmaq speakers who will engage teachers on a number of pertinent issues that are covered in school curriculum: Treaty Rights, Residential Schools, Traditional Medicine and Healing, and Incorporating Mi'kmaq arts, crafts and music into the classroom.
In addition to listening to the speakers time will be set aside for sharing and developing lesson plan ideas.
Each teacher will receive a welcome package that includes a variety of resources and teaching tools.
Registration is limited to 40 participants and includes a traditional meal for lunch.
